Which science-fiction author describes the most advanced and revolutionary ideas?

When I read Stephen Baxter novel "Manifold: Time", I was exposed to new ideas about the universe and the fate of humanity. Vernor Vinge novel "A fire upon the Deep" proposed new ideas that expanded my mind. So, I wonder, what great author I'm missing? What new ideas has been exposed in the hard science fiction literature?

50 years ago there was a viral outbreak during an experimental project. A virus consumed the bio-engineered beings known as leeches. This leeches went through a mutation which turned them into blood-sucking creatures that devoured the heart/soul of human. They harvested in human heart and once they took control they went through another mutation and became "raptors". Beings that consumed human organs. The viral was also exposed on human beings and turned them into "velocions". Though they didn't craved human blood they beings were nevertheless dangerous. Drico, a young "velecion" goes on a mission to track down a powerful velocion that consumed his half-sister suki.... How does this sound so far? good bad? why or why not?

Because i know they are suppossed to be exposed to something more then once when it comes to season allergens like pollen weeds etc. But what about fleas ? Just curious

I think its a matter of opinion. To some people, childbirth is a beautiful thing, in your case its monstrous. It also depends if you actually wanted to have a baby or if it was a "oops" baby. Im a mix of both though. I think it is embarassing to have you r legs spread in front of everyone, but i think when it comes time for me to have my baby that will be the last thing on my mind, im sure my mind will be occupied elsewhere.
